Insurance & Private Pay
Oak Path Counseling Group PLLC is in-network with most BCBS and Aetna plans, including the North Carolina State Health Plan. If you have any questions or concerns regarding insurance coverage, please feel free to reach out to our office at the contact information listed below or on our contact page. We are out-of-network with insurances not listed on the “Our Team” page but will be able to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits, if that is included in your coverage.
Fees range from $100 to $180 per session. We accept credit cards (including HSA/FSA cards), checks, and cash payments.
Sliding Scale
We do offer a sliding scale on a limited basis and is based upon both need as well as clinician availability. You are welcome to inquire regarding a clinician’s sliding scale availability as well as possible rates.
Practice Policies
No walk-ins, as all sessions are by appointment only. We require at least 24 hours for cancellation with no fee. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours ahead may be subject to a late fee.
We strive to respond to all inquiries within 48 business hours of receipt, but this isn’t always possible due to the nature of our work, and being in session with clients throughout the day.
For emergencies that occur outside of session time, the client should contact 911 or the crisis hotline 988 as our practice is not an emergency facility.
Good Faith Act
Effective 1/1/2022, a new federal law called the “No Surprises Act” was enacted. This law requires health practitioners and offices to provide you with a “good faith estimate” of the total cost of your treatment. Estimating the total cost of psychiatric and psychotherapy treatment is very difficult because the course of treatment varies for everyone. The law requires us to make this estimate prior to completing an assessment which further complicates things. In psychiatry and psychotherapy, there are only a handful of CPT codes (billing codes) that can be used and the prices for those codes may vary by practitioner.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Our office can provide you a document with your rights and estimated fees upon request.
